Description

This item is a group photograph of the Iaeger High School wrestling team, preserved in the contributor’s personal collection and dated 1989. The contributor recalls Coach Herold Bright and assistant coach Elenor Bright as important figures connected to this photograph and wrote a brief memory about first meeting them at a gymnastics competition at Panther Elementary School and later being invited to join the high school wrestling team.

Visually, the team is arranged in three rows on painted gym bleachers in front of a partial mural. Most of the wrestlers wear sleeveless singlets in two color variations; several singlets show the text “CUBS” across the chest. Two adults appear in the back row. The photograph surface shows small white spots, scratches and some minor color fading. The contributor supplied a list of names and seating order for people in the photo and identified the yearbook staff as the photographer; those names and roles are recorded below as supplied by the contributor but were not independently verified from the image alone.
